John Oxley
Writing & Broadcast
My first love is writing, and I'm fortunate now to be a regular contributor to a range of publications. I write features, columns, reviews and newsletters for a number of outlets - mostly about politics, but occasionally about history, culture and other things. I also appear on podcasts, radio and TV.

I'm always looking for new opportunities and commissions, so get in touch.
My writing primarily focuses on politics. I've written for many of the major UK publications, including The Spectator, UnHerd, The New Statesman, and The Telegraph.

I also have my own Substack - Joxley Writes - which features weekly long-form essays. It is one of the biggest and fastest-growing UK politics Substacks, with several thousand subscribers.

My writing mostly comes from a centre-right perspective, discussing the current travails of the Conservative Party as well as right-leaning responses to current events. I am also interested in how politics work, bringing my own ideas from the corporate world to how to improve and reinvigorate the systems that shape our decision-making.

I also sometimes write about fun things, like pubs.

In addition to writing, I can also talk. I've now become a regular TV contributor and "talking head". I've appeared on GB News, BBC Newsnight, BBC Breakfast, and a range of other news and politics shows. I've also been featured as a guest on Times Radio, LBC, the New Statesman podcast, and elsewhere on the radio waves.

Finally, I also occasionally appear in person. I've spoken on and chaired panels at events like party conferences, Westminster roundtables, and business events.

I am constantly open to opportunites to do any of the above, so please get in contact if you have a project in mind.
